Vectors Calculation

When two perpendicular vectors act on an object (horizontal and vertical), the resultant is obtained by completing a right-angled triangle.

The magnitude of the resultant is found using: R=A2+B2R = \sqrt{A^2 + B^2}

In a scale drawing, choose an appropriate scale and draw both vectors at right angles; the diagonal represents the resultant.

AC=AB+BC(Vector addition)\vec{AC} = \vec{AB} + \vec{BC} \quad \text{(Vector addition)}

R2=A2+B2R^2 = A^2 + B^2
