Impulse

Impulse is derived from Newton’s second law:

F=ma=m(vut)=mvmutF = m a = m \left( \frac{v - u}{t} \right) = \frac{mv - mu}{t}

Thus:

Ft=mvmuFt = mv - mu

Impulse equals the change in momentum.
Impulse is the product of force and time.
Unit: Ns (Newton second).
